Chobe National Park in Botswana is the 2nd largest park in Southern Africa and includes the mighty Chobe River.
A Chobe River Cruise is among the wonderful experiences in this region with abundant wildlife sightings and a remarkably quiet vibe, compared to Zambezi River cruises.
This video features lots of of elephants, hippos and a few crocs. I never saw that many hippos in one day….;-)
A Safari at Dawn
Another great adventure with an abundance of wildlife sightings is an early morning safari through Chobe National Park.
We left in the dark and saw the bush awakening and coming to life – so beautiful!
soooo many hippos in this park….
They seem so adorable, but are actually the most dangerous animals in the African bush. Hippos have killed more people than any other predator and a bite from their giant jaw can cut a human body in half!
Nearby, these guys were enjoying a morning snack….
one of the iconic Chobe River Boats in the background – that’s the river right there:
Jackals…..
sleepy……
….and, oh, so handsome!
Giraffes emerging like an apparition in the morning glory.
whassup….?
a few antelopes joining in…
and no safari would be complete without a few baboons…..
finally, a majestic herd of elephants!
What a way to start the day!

not just Americans though…;-) – in my case, they came from all over the world…

That looks so amazing! – will definitely add this as a day trip when I go to Vic Falls next year!
Loved it, too, Jessica! – and much quieter than Zambezi…
